Extraordinary. Always.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis (TCM) is the largest children’s museum in the world and has a strong local identity and awareness and is recognized as a world-leader. However, the Museum did not have a well-defined and articulated brand for its visitors beyond its 100-mile radius.

The Children’s Museum engaged MCo to help define/re-define the brand of TCM and strategies for implementation of the brand campaign.

MCo’s “Imaginative Outcomes” process provided a solid roadmap to developing a plan that included target audiences, core messages and a brand strategy development and communications plan.

Messages with Meaning

The Performing Arts Alliance (PAA) approached MCo to develop immediate and longer-term messaging strategies that will help communicate the value of the performing arts in America to a variety of audiences.  In order to address recent threats to cut support for the arts, MCo developed messaging that would align with PAA’s Federal advocacy mission to create action alerts for constituents that would spur them to contact Congress on issues relating to the support of the performing arts.

The longer strategic planning effort includes a report of findings, a toolkit, revised messaging approaches and materials to be shared with an active network of constituent arts organizations and artists nationwide.  The toolkit will give arts supporters in every community strategies for how to make every performance an advocacy event and provide them with the means and motivation to effectively communicate the value of the performing arts with community leaders and the general public.

Integrating the Arts and the Environment

We live in an age when image is everything, so it would seem everyone should recognize why the arts are critically important. But, in reality, many in positions of power today view the arts as an extracurricular activity when budgets are squeezed and programs must be cut.

MCo created and Art, Photo & Essay Content - Keep Your Eye on the Prize competition for the America’s WETLAND Foundation to engage Louisiana students in saving coastal wetlands at a time when coastal land loss is increasing and more Louisiana communities are being affected.

The Keep Your Eye on the Prize program is designed to encourage students across the state to consider the significance of Louisiana's coastal wetlands to their own lives by writing essays, creating artwork or taking photographs on the topic.

The subject of the 2012 contest essay entries will be “How can Louisiana adapt to coastal land loss and what changes should be made?” The subject of the 2012 contest art/photo entries will be, “Why should the area known as “America’s WETLAND be saved?”
