Should you have A Wikipedian-in-Residence?
One of our clients, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis recently earned a “Five Questions For” feature in Indianapolis Women’s Ezine for taking the unusual step of employing a Wikipedian-in-Residence. Lori Phillips says people in her position “find and organize an institution’s content so that the volunteers in the Wikipedia community who edit articles can then incorporate it into the encyclopedia and share it with a global audience.”
Savvy organizations realize who their audience is and know where their customers and guests may be looking for information. Is a Wikipedian-in-Residence a good move for your organization? Are you using social media properly? Let us help you analyze your online media resources.

Give the Gift that Gives Back
Finally, we wish all of you the best during the upcoming holiday season. We’re glad you were with us during 2011 and we promise more exciting news and advice in 2012. We know it’s hard picking out the perfect gifts, so we always like to recommend unusual items that keep on giving.
This year why not choose presents that pull double duty: not only do they put a smile on the face of whomever you give them to, but they help make the world a bit brighter by bringing money or attention to worthwhile causes.
One of our favorites is the America’s WETLAND Foundation. From their site, you can choose a meaningful gift to give a loved one and help save Gulf coast wetlands. You can give a tie, a book (pictured), t-shirts, ornaments and more.
Or, you might want visit the gift shop at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and pick up a toy frog, a Chinese red dragon Marionette or a toy fire truck.
