The Challenge:

The State of Louisiana is losing 25 to 35 square miles of coastal wetlands a year, yet only a limited number of people within the state, and even fewer nationwide, know the problem exists. Marmillion + Company was charged with raising public awareness of the impact Louisiana's wetland loss has on the state, nation and world and gaining support for efforts to conserve and save coastal Louisiana.

The Solution:

For what became America's WETLAND: Campaign to Save Coastal Louisiana, MCo researched and created and strategic campaign plan, that resulted in a powerful and consistent brand identity, core images, themes and messages that defined the loss and problem's impacts. MCo created outreach events and opportunities, while utilizing comprehensive print and electronic media strategies.

In order to support the dissemination of the campaign's messages and materials to key audiences, a strong network of cooperating organizations was developed, an educational infrastructure for children and adults was built, and private campaign funding was secured.

•    The creation of he largest, most comprehensive public education campaign in the State’s history
